01 — Challenge
The Challenge.
Lume & Wick sells candles and home fragrance to customers across the USA and Canada, one of the most crowded categories in e-commerce. Ranking a few product pages wasn't going to be enough. Buyers search across a wide landscape: scented candles, home fragrance, décor, lighting, and fragrance guides. The site had low daily search visibility and no content ecosystem to reach customers before they were ready to buy.
We built an SEO strategy combining e-commerce SEO, topical authority, content expansion, and search-intent optimisation. Instead of chasing isolated transactional keywords, we expanded Lume & Wick's coverage across informational and commercial searches, so the brand appeared at every stage of the buying journey, from inspiration to purchase.

Strategic Thinking.
The underlying reasoning and competitive insight that shaped our approach.
The underlying reasoning and competitive insight that shaped our approach. In home fragrance, most purchases start long before a product search. People look for gift ideas, scent guides, décor inspiration, and ways to set a mood. Brands that only optimise product pages miss that entire top of the funnel. So we treated the site as a topic ecosystem, not a catalogue. Connected content around candles, fragrance, lighting, home décor, and aromatherapy built topical authority, which lifted relevance for commercial pages too. Every guide fed into a collection, and every collection was reinforced by the guides around it. All of it was built for North American search behaviour across both the US and Canada.
04 — Execution
How We Did It.
Ran keyword and search-intent research across the full funnel, from informational to commercial investigation to transactional, mapping opportunities as one content ecosystem rather than as isolated keywords.
Optimised collection and category pages to clearly communicate what each contains, who it's for, key use cases, related topics, and commercial intent.
Developed topical content across home fragrance and home lifestyle, making the site useful beyond selling products and capturing high-interest informational searches.
Built an internal linking architecture connecting informational content to commercial pages, strengthening topical relationships and guiding readers towards products.
Aligned targeting to USA and Canada search behaviour, capturing relevant queries from customers in both markets.
Monitored Google Search Console continuously to track growing queries, new ranking opportunities, pages gaining impressions and clicks, position changes, and CTR gaps, then fed those insights back into optimisation.
05 — Outcomes
What Happened.
At the start of the tracked period, Lume & Wick had low daily search visibility. Once the SEO campaign launched, impressions and clicks began trending upward, with growth accelerating through January and February as daily search activity reached far higher levels than at the start. Over the tracked period, the site appeared in Google Search more than 1.14 million times and drew 5,496 organic clicks. Its aggregate average position reached 8.1, putting overall visibility in the first-page range. This wasn't a short-term spike: the site sustained substantially higher search activity through the later part of the period, building a lasting organic foundation. 1.14M+ organic search impressions 5,496 organic clicks 8.1 average search position 0.5% average click-through rate

06 — Conclusion
The Takeaway.
For e-commerce brands, SEO growth doesn't come from ranking individual products. It comes from owning the whole search journey. By combining e-commerce optimisation, topical authority, content strategy, internal linking, and continuous search-data analysis, Lume & Wick built a much larger organic footprint across the USA and Canada. That footprint now opens room for the next phase: turning 1.14M+ impressions into more clicks through CTR optimisation.
